Evening of British Food
I’ve heard it many times, Britain has the worst food in Europe!
There was a time when visitors to the UK were met with soggy fish and chips or rock hard Yorkshire puddings and positively grey roast beef!
When my Husband Jan, from the Netherlands, and I first met and I’d cooked a few meals for him he commented that he was shocked that so many really tasty dishes come from the UK.
Thankfully the tourism and restaurant industry in the UK had changed in the last 20 years and I think British people can be really proud that so many traditional dishes and ingredients are now back on the menu.
I’d like to invite you to our House in Huis ter Heide for a night of British food and great British music!!
I’m originally from Edinburgh, Scotland so I’ll be offering a few Scottish tasters such as Cullen Skink (soup made from smoked haddock) and Haggis poppers (Scottish version of a bitterballen) and Cranachan (a beautiful raspberry, whisky cream dessert).
